GENERAL GRAIN SPAWN INFORMATION-
  • 100gms or 1Kg of mycelium grain spawn of your choice in Individual Sac O2 mushroom bags
  • Fully colonized and contaminant-free
  • 100% reputable Millet
  • Calcium Carbonate added for supplementation
  • Gypsum is added to prevent grains from clumping together
  • It comes with a little Sawdust to expose mycelium to its final substrate and reduce the lag period.
  • Grains autoclaved and prepared at field capacity
Method to use:-
  • Add at least 5-20% grain spawn in your substrate. The amount of spawn you add depends if your substrate is sterilized or pasteurized, your experience level, type of mycelium used(Reishi and Oysters require less spawn compared to shiitake or Almond or Portobello).
  • The grains can also be transferred to more Sterilized Grain bags and expanded further.
  • If you are using pasteurized substrate instead of the Sterilized Substrate, a higher grain spawn rate MAY lead to fewer chances of contamination as higher grain spawn leads to faster colonization.
Bags are assured 100% contaminant-free due to their sterilization process of 2.5h at 15psi in a commercial autoclave. Moreover, we inoculate and heat-seal our bags in front of a 0.1 Micron laminar flow-hood. These strains are vigorous and fast-growing, reducing the chances of contamination once the substrate is added.

Do not store the following Colonised grain spawn in the fridge below 10°C to avoid sinencens(dieback):-

  • Paddy Straw
  • Almond Mushroom
  • Pink Oyster
  • Yellow Oyster
  • Woodear

The above mentioned spawn needs to be kept cold(around 10C)or used immediately in order for it to not contaminate. If you leave them outside for too long, they will stress and may not ward contamination efficiently.

All other spawn not mentioned above can be stored in your home/ commercial fridge optimally at 4°C-6°C. Do not Freeze.

Use the spawn within 2 months from the ordering date. If using half the bag at a time, heat seal the bag with the remaining spawn before putting it back in the fridge.

Once your receive the spawn, let it rest for 3-4 days at room for the mycelium to redevelop as it breaks during shipment and looks uncolonized.
