Indole-3-Acetic Acid (IAA) Solution is a naturally occurring auxin and essential plant growth regulator. It plays a key role in cell division, elongation, and differentiation, making it a vital component in plant tissue culture.

Key Benefits of the IAA Solution

  • Convenient and straightforward to use

  • Ideal for enriching growth media like MS or Gamborg’s media to support callus formation

  • Facilitates both primary and lateral root initiation

  • Regulates crucial developmental processes, including cell division, elongation, and tissue differentiation

How to Use the IAA Solution

Follow these steps to prepare tissue culture media using PCT’s IAA solution:

  1. Prepare the liquid tissue culture medium using PCT’s MS, DKW, or another appropriate medium for your plant species.

  2. Add sugar based on the media volume (typically 30 grams per litre), 1 ml/L of PPM, and either 3–4 g/L of gellan gum or 6–8 g/L of agar.

  3. Add the desired amount of IAA solution.

  4. Autoclave the media at 121°C and 15 psi for 20 minutes.

  5. Your culture medium is ready for use!

We offer both IAA powder and solution forms of our plant growth regulators to meet different needs:

Powder Form: This is the raw, solid form of the product. It offers a longer shelf life, is cost-effective, and is ideal for customers who prefer to prepare solutions at desired concentrations.

Solution Form: This is a ready-to-use or ready-to-dilute liquid product version. It provides convenience and ensures consistent concentration, saving preparation time. However, it generally has a shorter shelf life and should be stored properly to maintain effectiveness.

Both forms contain the same active ingredient—the choice depends on your application preferences, storage capabilities, and handling needs. We’re happy to assist if you have any questions about usage or preparation.

All Products are shipped from Marrickville, Sydney. We do not dropship or hire 3rd party companies to ship our products.

  • This substance plays crucial roles in various aspects of plant physiology, including cell enlargement, division, tissue differentiation, and responses to environmental stimuli such as light and gravity.
  • In plant tissue culture, it fosters the development of organs such as shoots and roots.
  • In horticulture, it is used to promote adventitious root growth.
  • It functions as a vital supplement in growth media formulations like MS media or Gamborg’s media, facilitating callus initiation.
  • Auxin sprays containing IAA can be used in some crops to improve fruit sets and prevent premature fruit drop.
