Kinetin Solution is a synthetic cytokinin known for stimulating cell division. It supports robust plant development in tissue culture applications when used with auxins in growth media like Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium.
Key Benefits of Kinetin Solution
-
Easy to apply in lab settings
-
Stimulates cell division and supports healthy plant growth
-
Enhances tissue culture media such as MS medium
-
Promotes callus formation and encourages shoot initiation from callus during later stages
How to Use Kinetin Solution
Follow these steps to prepare tissue culture media using PCT’s Kinetin solution:
-
Depending on your plant species, prepare your liquid tissue culture media using PCT’s MS or DKW media, or any other suitable alternative.
-
Add sugar according to the media volume (typically 30 grams per litre), 1 ml/L of PPM, and either 3–4 g/L of gellan gum or 6–8 g/L of agar.
-
Add the required amount of Kinetin solution.
-
Sterilise the prepared medium in an autoclave at 121°C and 15 psi for 20 minutes.
Your culture media is now ready for use!
We offer both Kinetin powder and solution forms of our plant growth regulators to meet different needs:
Powder Form: This is the raw, solid form of the product. It offers a longer shelf life, is cost-effective, and ideal for customers who prefer to prepare their solutions at desired concentrations.
Solution Form: This is a ready-to-use or ready-to-dilute liquid product version. It provides convenience and ensures consistent concentration, saving preparation time. However, it generally has a shorter shelf life and should be stored properly to maintain effectiveness.
Both forms contain the same active ingredient—the choice depends on your application preferences, storage capabilities, and handling needs. We’re happy to assist if you have any questions about usage or preparation.
