Naphthaleneacetic Acid (NAA) Solution is a synthetic auxin widely used in agriculture and plant tissue culture. It is crucial in promoting root formation and regulating various plant growth processes.
Key Benefits of the NAA Solution
-
Easy to apply in tissue culture protocols
-
Enhances MS medium for callus initiation
-
Commonly used in media formulations such as V-KM and Cg media
-
Stimulates the development of lateral and adventitious roots
-
In low concentrations, it triggers auxin-like responses, including root induction, cell division, growth, and fruit set
How to Use the NAA Solution
To prepare tissue culture media with PCT’s NAA solution, follow these steps:
-
The first step is to prepare the liquid tissue culture medium using PCT’s MS, DKW, or another appropriate formulation for your plant species.
-
Add sugar according to the media volume (typically 30 grams per litre), 1 ml/L of PPM, and either 3–4 g/L of gellan gum or 6–8 g/L of agar.
-
Add the desired amount of NAA solution.
-
Autoclave the media at 121°C and 15 psi for 20 minutes.
-
Your culture media is now ready for use!
We offer both NAA powder and solution forms of our plant growth regulators to meet different needs:
Powder Form: This is the raw, solid form of the product. It offers a longer shelf life, is cost-effective, and ideal for customers who prefer to prepare their solutions at desired concentrations.
Solution Form: This is a ready-to-use or ready-to-dilute liquid product version. It provides convenience and ensures consistent concentration, saving preparation time. However, it generally has a shorter shelf life and should be stored properly to maintain its effectiveness.
Both forms contain the same active ingredient—the choice depends on your application preferences, storage capabilities, and handling needs. We’re happy to assist if you have any questions about usage or preparation.
