Description
Thidiazuron (TDZ) is a plant growth regulator and a synthetic diphenylurea cytokinin, commonly used in plant tissue culture to encourage shoot regeneration, organogenesis, and somatic embryogenesis.
Benefits of Thidiazuron (TDZ)
Simple to use
Highly effective for stimulating shoot multiplication from explants (tissue samples) during micropropagation
Ideal for supplementing tissue culture media such as MS medium
Helps reduce apical dominance
Essential for the micropropagation of certain plant species
How to Use Thidiazuron (TDZ) Solution
To prepare tissue culture media using PCTโs premium-grade agar, follow these steps:
Prepare liquid tissue culture media using PCTโs MS or DKW media, or another suitable medium depending on your plant type.
Add sugar according to the amount of media prepared (typically 30 grams per litre), 1 ml/L of PPM, and either 3โ4 g/L of gellan gum or 6โ8 g/L of agar.
Add the required amount of Thidiazuron (TDZ).
Autoclave the medium for 20 minutes at 15 psi and 121ยฐC.
