Description
Reishi (Ganoderma steyaertanum) Medicinal. Wood-loving Species. also known as bracket fungus. Side fruiting. Best fruiting temp: 23°-25°C
True Reishi, scientifically known as Ganoderma lucidum, is not permitted for import or sale in Australia. However, there is a native variety of Ganoderma found in Queensland, which is also considered medicinal and is the closest alternative to true Reishi. This local Ganoderma can be grown as either conks or antlers, depending on the environmental conditions. Higher CO2 levels encourage antler growth, while increased fresh air exchange leads to the formation of conks. Antlers do not produce spores, but if they are grown in a high CO2 environment and later exposed to more air, conks will form on top of the antlers and begin to release spores. Reishi mushrooms are prolific spore producers, so it’s recommended to fruit them inside bags in a high CO2 environment. Although conks are often associated with medicinal benefits, antlers also possess the same therapeutic properties. Reishi is known for its rapid colonization and is commonly used in the production of myco-materials.
Use our Sawdust spawn for substrate to substrate transfer,or to inoculate logs. it provides up to 1000 times more inoculation points than grain spawn, promising even and swifter colonization in the long run.
