- 2 x Soda Glass slides not Bonded together as shown in photos, customer has to bond them together.No tape is supplied. Contains no spores. You can use electrical tape or masking tape.
- Edges of the glass as sharp, please be careful to not cut yourself.
Have you wondered how to preserve mushroom spores for years? Or perhaps you are interested in collecting spore prints and keeping their geometry intact. This Glass Spore Print Slides booklet lets you collect spore prints for many years and keep their shape intact. This way, you could collect spores worldwide, observe their unique geometry, or save them for later use.
What is a spore booklet?
2 Panes of glass are taped on one side, creating a spore booklet. A tape Is used to bind one side and masking tape is used to seal the remaining three sides once the spore print is collected.

Preparing the slide
Clean the inside of the glass with soapy water. Once dried, use alcohol to wipe the glass. Place a mushroom to collect the spore print. After 12-24 hours, you should have your spore print. Close the glass and seal the 3 sides with masking tape.
The glass is big enough to take spore prints for the majority of the mushroom strains.
Storage
Spores can be stored inside these Glass Spore Print Slides for years if protected from light, moisture, and drastic temperature changes. Thus, keep the slides with mushroom spore print in a dark, cool, dry spot at room temperature. Prints stored in this fashion can be kept for generations. The 2 slides leave no space for any air so it works very well.
To germinate the spores
Use an inoculation loop and flame sterilise. Cool on the same agar plate, you wish to germinate spore, collect a few spores from your spore print and make an ‘S’ or a ‘Z’ pattern in your agar plate. Leave it in a dark spot for 2-3 weeks to germinate.
