About This Kit
1 kg
Our 1 kg kits are premade and ready to go. No waiting, no lead time. If you want to gift someone a mushroom kit, or you just don’t want to wait around, this is the one. No fancy box, no unnecessary packaging — just a fresh, ready-to-fruit bag.
3 kg
Our 3 kg kits are made fresh to order. We prepare your bag, wait for it to reach 60โ70% colonisation, then send it straight to you. No fancy box, no endless sitting in cold storage.
Lead time applies to 3 kg kits only. The lead time shown above the “Add to Cart” button is the time needed to prepare your order. A product showing as “in stock” means it can be prepared within that lead time, not that it is ready to ship immediately. 1 kg kits ship within our standard handling time when in stock.

About Lion’s Mane Mushrooms
Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus) is prized for both its culinary and medicinal qualities. It has a distinctive cascading, pom-pom appearance unlike any other mushroom, and a flavour and texture often compared to crab or lobster when cooked. It is widely studied for its potential neurological and cognitive health benefits.
Growing Conditions
Humidity: 85โ95%. Mist 2โ3 times daily.
Light: Indirect ambient light.
Air: Gentle airflow to remove COโ buildup.
Temperature: 18ยฐCโ24ยฐC.
More Than One Harvest?
Yes. Expect up to 3 flushes. After each harvest, remove all remaining fruit bodies, allow the block to rest 3โ4 days, then soak in cold water for 2โ3 hours before resuming misting.
Common Mistake to Avoid: Don’t Wait Too Long to Fruit
One of the most common mistakes with Lion’s Mane is waiting too long to initiate fruiting. Unlike oyster mushrooms, which turn completely white when ready, Lion’s Mane mycelium can be trickier to read. Many growers assume it is still colonising when it is actually ready to fruit.
You may even notice small pins forming inside the bag. This means the mycelium is already spending energy trying to fruit — not ideal. The 10โ21 day guideline is just that, a guideline. Warmer temps speed things up, cooler temps slow things down. Your goal is to move it into fruiting conditions before pins form inside the bag, so they develop outside where you can actually harvest them.
Harvesting Lion’s Mane
Lion’s Mane can be tricky to know when to pick. Harvest after 6โ7 days from initial growth. Waiting too long can cause spores to start dropping, which shortens the shelf life of your mushrooms.
What if pins form inside the bag?
Don’t worry. Ignore the internal pins. Gently fold the top of the bag to push out excess air, hold it in place with tape, cut a small X in the side of the bag where you want the mushrooms to grow, and begin misting that spot daily. The internal pins will be naturally aborted as they don’t have space to grow.
Tips and Troubleshooting
๐ก Pink mushrooms? Great news — that means conditions are ideal. The pink colour is normal and will fade to white as the mushroom matures. Not all mushroom will turn Pink and thats ok too.
๐ก Yellow mushrooms? This usually means humidity is too low or temperature is too high. Increase misting or move the kit to a cooler spot.
๐ก Growth stalled? Most often caused by low humidity or incorrect temperature. Adjust your environment and give it another try.
All mushrooms produce spores as part of their natural growth cycle. Some people may be sensitive or allergic to spores, so be mindful of where you grow them. Harvesting earlier — as the caps begin to flatten — will help you avoid heavy sporulation.

Checkout out our fineย Misting Spray Bottleย to produce tiny droplets and keep humidity high. The size of droplets formed can easily be evaporated , this constant evaporation signals mycelium to pin.
