The Portobello strain does not colonise standard grains like rye, millet, or wheat as efficiently as other species. For optimal results, we recommend using a custom grain blend that includes straw, compost, and grains to support early-stage mycelial growth. Follow the ratio provided below, bring the mix to field capacity, sterilise it thoroughly, and inoculate with liquid culture under sterile conditions.

P2 Cultures are made from P1 cultures by expanding them 10 folds, so 10 ml to 100 ml.
