Benzylaminopurine (BAP) Powder is a plant growth regulator frequently used in plant tissue culture to encourage cell division and shoot proliferation.

Advantages of Benzylaminopurine (BAP) Powder

  1. Simple and easy to use.
  2. Enhances plant growth and development, promotes blossom formation, and boosts fruit production by stimulating cell division.
  3. Commonly added to tissue culture media, such as MS media.
  4. Encourages seed germination.
  5. Supports shoot development in vitro.
  6. Can also be used to supplement Gamborg’s and Chu’s N6 media.

Steps for Using Benzylaminopurine (BAP) Powder

To prepare tissue culture media with PCT’s BAP powder, follow these steps:

  1. Depending on the plant’s needs, prepare a liquid tissue culture medium using PCT’s MS, DKW, or another suitable medium.
  2. Add sugar according to the volume of prepared media (typically, 30 grams per litre), along with 1 ml/L PPMâ„¢ and 3-4 grams per litre of gellan gum or 6-8 grams per litre of agar.
  3. Mix in the required amount of BAP from the pre-prepared BAP stock solution.
  4. Sterilise the medium by autoclaving for 20 minutes at 121℃ and 15 psi.

Your tissue culture medium is now ready!

We offer both powder and 6-BAP solution forms of our plant growth regulators to meet different needs:

Powder Form: This is the raw, solid form of the product. It offers a longer shelf life, is cost-effective, and ideal for customers who prefer to prepare their solutions at desired concentrations.

Solution Form: This is a ready-to-use or ready-to-dilute liquid product version. It provides convenience and ensures consistent concentration, saving preparation time. However, it generally has a shorter shelf life and should be stored properly to maintain effectiveness.

Both forms contain the same active ingredient—the choice depends on your application preferences, storage capabilities, and handling needs. We’re happy to assist if you have any questions about usage or preparation.

All Products are shipped from Marrickville, Sydney. We do not dropship or hire 3rd party companies to ship our products.
