How to Use
- Clean the mold using isopropyl alcohol or soapy warm water.
- Populate the mold with our growth medium roughly 1570g of a sawdust and bran mixture or 1350g of hemp hurd or use your own growth medium, ensure you are filling the right side.
- Cover it with cling foil and secure it with some holes for ventilation.
- Place in a warm area to facilitate growth.
When using the planter mold designed for creating mycelium-based objects, it is crucial to pay attention to the orientation of the mold during the filling process. The mold has been specifically designed with a distinct front and back side to achieve the desired planter shape. Filling the growth medium from the correct side is essential; otherwise, the final product will not attain its intended form. Please refer to the pictures in the listing to know the correct side to fill.
Additionally, it’s important to remember to make a drainage hole at the bottom of the planter. This step is vital for the health of the plants, allowing excess water to drain away and preventing root rot.
We recommend planting all plants from the succulent family, as they do not need much water and are okay to dry during the watering cycle.
Properly following these guidelines will ensure that the mycelium planter achieves its functional purpose and maintains its aesthetic appeal.
